week two: trial
The bleak morning sun seems to shine upon you the day after the death announcement. Though it's hard to pinpoint, immediately it feels as though something is wrong. As you slowly rouse from your slumber, you'll realize you can hear the faint sound of jingling bells around the lodge. Regardless of where you slept the night before, the bells will grow louder and louder, urging you up on your feet and toward the exit of the lodge.
As you exit the lodge, it becomes apparent what's changed overnight. The blizzard has died down for now, exposing a bright wintery wonderland. The bells give way to a low, thrumming hum, something that sounds almost electrical in nature. You'll find yourself walking forward inch by inch, each of you trudging through the deep snow toward the gondola station.
When the sun reaches the highest point in the sky, a loud, metallic creak rings out around the mountain as the doors of the gondola swing open. Don't be shy, there's plenty of room for all! And for those of you who are a bit stubborn about joining the others, you may wish to watch your step. The ice is just slick enough to dump you inside on the floor.
The doors close and the gondola slowly begins to rise into the air. It travels the lift line up, up, and up, leaving you with no escape and chilly.
On the interior wall, five circular colored lights are mounted. A row of stockings hang just below them, and on the wall of the gondola itself a message has been scratched in for all to read.
Choose. Sundown. Leave.

Welcome to your final trial, everyone! This trial will take place from 9am PST/12pm EST/4am NZST, and will last until 6pm PST/9pm EST/1pm NZST.
There will be a one-hour trial break from 1pm PST/4pm EST/8am NZST to 2pm PST/5pm EST/9am NZST. We recommend that you use this time to get something to eat if you haven't yet already, watch an episode of a TV show or even just take a quick nap to recharge. During this time, no mod tags will go out; we also ask that players refrain from starting any intensive threads such as interrogations, strip searches, hair or injury comparisons, etc. While we're not going to say you're not allowed to tag during this time, we also don't want anyone to miss out on anything important during an official break.
Please remember to have your character cast a vote on the voting page! Voting is mandatory, as it functions as the activity check for the game. If you do not cast a vote by the time trial is over, your character will be killed off. Please contact the mods prior to the end of the trial if something comes up and you are prevented from voting (i.e. 504 errors, etc).
